Dr. Sanghamitra Sengupta

Dr. Sanghamitra Sengupta, born & raised in the mountains of India, she grew up in the hill town called Jalpaiguri near Darjeeling, West Bengal.

 She finished her high school from Jalpaiguri and then did undergraduate from Presidency College, Kolkata. Later on she moved to the USA to pursue PhD and have received Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2017 summer in surface infrared spectroscopy investigating renewable energy materials. Afterwards, Sanghamitra moved to Europe to pursue post-doctoral research first in Stockholm, Sweden at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and then continued her research in the fundamental physics institute called AMOLF located in science park of Amsterdam in an European Union Project. She is currently doing research in energy transition landscape for Shell.

She speaks Bengali (mother tongue), Hindi (mostly learnt from watching many hindi movies), marginal -Swedish, Spanish and Dutch, and English with full proficiency. When not working she loves to go for yoga classes and dancing courses and do a lot of hiking whenever possible.
