Dr. Ameya Krishna

Dr. Ameya Krishna B. Dr. Ameya Krishna B. is a scientist in Nanotechnology, focussing on materials science and membranes. He conducts his research at the MESA+ Institute of Nanotechnology, University of Twente.

 

After his B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Bangalore- India in 2014, he moved to Germany to pursue a master’s degree in renewable energy focussing on Green Hydrogen using fuel cells. He briefly worked at the Max Plank Institute on ion exchange membranes for water electrolysis. In 2018, he moved to the Netherlands to conduct research in membranes as a doctoral candidate.

Ameya has been actively involved in Yoga, Ayurveda, Hindustani classical music, and Indian gastronomy. He learned yoga at a young age and has been teaching since 2010, both in India and Netherlands. He has been learning Hindustani shastreeya sangeet for several years from his guru, Pandit Shivanand Heroor, disciple of Padma Bhushan Pt. Shri Puttaraj Kavi Gawaiji. Therefore, he carries a piece of India with him everywhere he goes.

He is a nominated member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences, UK, with the intention of integrating sustainable health sciences into the National Health Policies of Britain and the EU countries. As a trustee of the FCCI, he aims to strengthen the position of India and contribute to Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- The world is one family.

 He received the Sustainable Energy Award from the Selco Foundation in 2012, and the David Reinout Award in 2019 for his research in sustainable technologies.
